What we take — and what we cannot
Almost everything that is not hazardous. If something is not on either list, text a photo to (365) 773-8689 and we will tell you before we drive out.
We take
- Furniture — couches, beds, dressers, tables, chairs
- Appliances — fridges, stoves, washers, dryers, freezers
- Mattresses and box springs
- Electronics — TVs, monitors, computers, printers
- Yard waste — branches, brush, sod, soil, fencing
- Renovation debris — drywall, lumber, flooring, tile
- Boxes, bags, clutter and general household junk
- Garage and shed contents — tools, bikes, shelving
- Hot tubs, sheds and playsets (dismantling quoted separately)
- Office furniture, filing cabinets and fixtures
We cannot take
These need a licensed hazardous waste facility. York Region runs free household hazardous waste depots for residents, which is where most of this belongs.
- Paint, solvents and household chemicals
- Propane tanks and pressurized cylinders
- Motor oil, antifreeze and fuel
- Asbestos and anything containing it
- Medical or biohazardous waste
- Ammunition, fireworks and explosives
Refusing these is not us being difficult — hauling them without the right licence is illegal, and any company that offers to take your paint or propane in a regular trailer is cutting a corner somewhere.
Where it actually goes
Donation
Furniture, housewares and working electronics in usable condition go to local donation rather than to disposal.
Recycling
Metal, appliances, mattresses and clean yard waste go to facilities that recover or compost them.
Disposal
Only what is genuinely finished goes to the transfer station. It is usually a smaller share of the load than people expect.
